Why Contribute?

Our Lady of Peace Post 1947 of the Catholic War Veterans of the U.S.A. is a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt War veterans' organization.

The Post has established a 501(c)(3) Public Charity, the "Catholic Veterans of Nevada Charity Foundation, DBA Veterans Care Assistance Program," to raise funds to support the Post's welfare program.
Please visit the websites at www.cvnc-foundation.org or www.vc-ap.org. Adopting the language suggested in the 2013 Nevada Law AB 60, Sec. 12.3 (NRS 598.1305), contributions to the Foundation and Junior ROTC Scholarship Program may be tax deductable as supporting the following exempt Post 1947 welfare activities:


Veterans Tax Exempt Activities Funded by Catholic Veterans of Nevada Charity Foundation

  • Promote the general welfare of the community
  • Assist disabled and needy veterans, members of the United States Armed Forces and their dependents, and the widows and orphans of deceased veterans.
  • Provide entertainment, care, and assistance to hospitalized veterans or members of the United States Armed Forces.
  • Carry on programs to perpetuate the memory of deceased veterans and members of the United States Armed Forces and to comfort their survivors.
  • Conduct programs for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes.

Tax Exempt Activities Funded by the Father Vincent R. Capodanno, MM, Junior ROTC Scholarship Program

  • Provide financial support for Junior ROTC High School Seniors to attend college
  • Encourage young men and women to continue their education

Veterans Tax Exempt Activities Funded by Catholic War Veterans Post 1947 General Fund

  • Sponsor or participate in activities of a patriotic nature.
  • Provide Firing Detail and Military Honors at grave side services, when requested in advance by the family of deceased veterans.
  • Provide social and recreational activities for members.

How to Contribute

If you would like to contribute to the Our Lady of Peace Post 1947 Catholic War Veterans of the U.S.A. general fund, please make your check payable to "CWV Post 1947" and indicate on the purpose line "General Fund Donation.
